Got a shock

When Annette went for her 9-month-old developmental assessment at a polyclinic last week, we found that her weight was only 6.4 kg and that she had only put on 100g in the past 2 months (the previous visit was 2 months ago) so she dropped to the 3rd percentile! (Thought she would have put on more because she has been eating quite a lot of solids - about 8-10 tablespoons per meal!)

And the nurse (same nurse during the previous visit) still plotted the graph wrongly and insisted that she was just below the 50th percentile despite us trying to show her the correct way to plot the graph! (So it's very misleading now to look at the growth chart in her health booklet)
*I really think there should be a table inserted into the health booklet to monitor the growth, instead of just the graph, so that the actual measurements can be recorded down.

And when we saw the doctor (apparently a baby specialist), he just said we shouldn't worry because babies put on and lose weight regularly. (and the previous doctors at the same polyclinic who saw Annette also didn't think there was anything to worry about.) But Annette's growth has been on a decline (1st-4th month: 50th percentile; 6th month: 25th percentile; 7th month: 10th percentile) so we asked him for a referral.

The appointment with the paediatrics dept at a hospital is still a week away... so we took her to a private paed who advised us to give her multivitamins, yoghurt and cheese to increase her dairy intake (we've been trying very hard to get her to drink more milk but she will only take 60-90 ml of goat's formula milk 3-4 times a day and the rest is direct breastfeeding.) And she also reminded me to take my vitamins (because I didn't take it during Sam's time and yet Sam grew very well but now I wished I was more diligent). Our doctor friend had advised us to see a paed earlier because Annette looked very small but we just kept procrastinating, thinking that we would just keep trying to give her more milk and that she was probably just a small baby, and because we just didn't seem to be able to find the time.)

We're praying that she'll be able to grow healthily. We gave her similac formula at 6 months but she didn't seem to take much and it tasted funny to us so we changed to goat's milk. But after 2 months, we're thinking it doesn't seem to be fattening her up so we're trying enfapro now. But she's even more resistant to it and it seems harder to get her to drink more now. Really praying for wisdom and patience when the feeding gets tough and for good advice at the next appointment.
